Compared to the newer CXr models, the first generation furlers feature a smaller drum diameter and do not include a ratchet function. The smaller drum results in slightly heavier furling, but also allows for faster operation. The interaction between the drum and the line is excellent, ensuring smooth performance. Sealed steel bearings and stainless
